FAQ

What kind of credit score do I need to buy a home?

Typically, Credit Score of 620 or higher is needed for most loan programs. Higher scores mean lower risk to lenders, leading to reduced down payment and improved interest rates. Conversely, lower credit scores might necessitate more upfront funds or result in higher interest rates for buyers, countering the lender’s risk.

What is NRI & PIO?

An Indian citizen residing abroad for work, business, or leisure, with an uncertain intention for extended stay, is categorized as a non-resident. This classification also extends to individuals posted overseas by U.N. organizations and those temporarily deputed by the Central/state Government and Public Sector undertakings. Non-resident foreign citizens of Indian Origin are granted similar privileges as non-residential Indian citizens (NRIs) for specific benefits.

For foreign citizens (excluding those from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, or Nepal), Indian Origin status is granted if they held an Indian Passport at any time or if they, their father, or paternal grandfather acquired Indian citizenship through the Constitution of India or the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955).
